About the experience
At Pontal do Boqueirão, the Manguaba River meets the sea among sandbanks, mangroves and coconut palms. In the late afternoon the sun sets over the river — one of the most beautiful sights on the Coral Coast.
Where the river becomes the sea
The meeting of the waters forms sandbanks that shift with the tide. At low tide you can walk along them and step into the river's calm water.
Sunset over the river
Because the river flows out to sea, the sun sets right in front of anyone standing on the point. Many people arrive mid-afternoon to claim a spot and wait for the golden hour.
Living mangroves
The banks of the Manguaba are lined with mangroves, a nursery for fish, crabs and birds. Boat or kayak trips reveal this wilder side of the region.
