About the experience
Sand walls in shades of red, orange and ocher drop down to the sea, framing one of Japaratinga's most beautiful views. From the top, the viewpoint shows the reefs traced in the blue-green water.
Colors carved over time
The barreiras are cliffs made of sediment layers sculpted by wind and rain. Each layer has its own color — and with the sun low, the whole wall seems to glow.
The viewpoint
From the clifftop the coast opens up: coconut groves, the strip of sand and the reef lines that form the natural pools. It is a must-stop on every buggy tour.
A natural spout
At the foot of the cliffs, freshwater springs trickle down the slope into small spouts — a refreshing shower after the beach.
